	Various events are organised throughout the year in and around the buildings and community of St. Andrews. St. Andrews Church Friendship Group The Friendship Group was formed for men and women to spend some time on a Tuesday afternoon if they felt in need of company; a 'drop-in centre' to enjoy a blether and a cup of tea. We have eighteen regular members, all women (well women are gregarious!) who meet fortnightly inthe church hall and enjoy board games, quizzes, puzzles, beetle, charades, lively discussions on a variety of subjects, outings, sing-songs, learning new crafts and most of all 'getting to know our neighbours'. We knit car blankets and small garments in aid of the Mission Hospital at Ekwendeni and part sponsor a trainee nurse there, as well as providing goodies for Christmas shoe-boxes for Blytheswood. The group is entirely informal - no office bearers - and each member takes a full part in organising and running the meetings. We extend the hand of friendship to all (men and women) within as well as outwith, the Congregation.
